Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, ensure accuracy in financial data entry, and assist with maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned components of the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Prepare, review, and enter journal entries and account reconciliations under supervision.
- Support general ledger maintenance, including account analysis and variance follow-up.
- Assist with job costing, project accounting, and data entry related to manufacturing or project-based operations.
- Respond to internal data and reporting requests within established timelines.
- Help identify process inefficiencies and support improvements to accounting procedures.
- Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional team members, particularly during period-end close.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Professional Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing or project-based environment.
- Basic working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience supporting month-end close activities is preferred.
- Familiarity with job costing or project accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
