Purchasing and Sales Assistant – Temp-to-Hire
Location: On-site | Food Manufacturing Company
Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Day Shift | Full-time (40 hours/week)

Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing and Sales Assistant to support daily operations during a staff absence at a fast-paced food manufacturing company. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys supporting both purchasing and sales functions. Please note that due to the nature of the business, the work environment may carry a noticeable aroma of spices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with post-trade show follow-up: respond to broker and customer inquiries, send samples and documentation, and update internal sales records.
  • Track customer interest and trends, coordinate product samples, and follow up to ensure satisfaction and identify additional needs.
  • Communicate professionally via phone and email with vendors, customers, and brokers.
  • Coordinate shipments with overseas vendors and arrange domestic freight and drayage services.
  • Manage import and customs documentation, track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Support the purchasing process: gather pricing, process quote requests, confirm terms, and issue purchase orders.
  • Assist with domestic and international payments, including processing wire transfers.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Order Fulfillment teams to ensure product availability.
  • Prepare cost tracking for purchase orders and production logs.
  • Support trade show logistics including registration, travel, booth coordination, and shipping.
  • Provide general administrative support across departments (filing, phones, clerical tasks, and special projects).

Qualifications:

  • Experience in purchasing, sales support, or administrative roles preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and procurement processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze pricing trends and vendor terms.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to multitask across departments.
  • Experience with contract management and basic knowledge of supply chain operations is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
