Schedule: Full-Time
Travel: 20% - Regular local/regional travel to customer sites, approximately 3–5 visits per month

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician. This is primarily an office-based technical position requiring regular travel to customer sites (about 80% Customer IT Support and about 20% travel). In addition to hands-on service responsibilities, this individual will serve as a senior technical resource and mentor to junior technicians as the service department continues to grow.

The ideal candidate brings a strong electrical, mechanical troubleshooting background, excellent customer-facing communication skills, and previous experience servicing industrial equipment in manufacturing, printing or packaging environments.

Training will be provided on company-specific equipment, processes, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and maintain industrial equipment at customer locations (Industrial inkjet printing equipment)
  • Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting support
  • Perform equipment assembly, setup, testing, and repair
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex or critical technical issues
  • Provide technical support to customers by phone, email, video, and in person
  • Conduct customer site visits approximately 3–5 times per month
  • Build strong customer relationships by providing responsive and professional technical support
  • Train and mentor junior Field Service Technicians
  • Assist with onboarding and technical training of new service team members
  • Provide technical training and equipment education to internal departments
  • Develop, document, and improve service procedures and technical processes
  • Establish and maintain service protocols and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and service efficiency
  • Communicate technical challenges, customer concerns, and service progress to leadership
  • Maintain accurate service and technical documentation
  • Perform additional technical and field-service responsibilities as needed

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of field service, equipment maintenance, or technical support experience
  • Hands-on experience servicing industrial or manufacturing equipment
  • At least 1–2 years of experience leading, mentoring, or training other technicians
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical troubleshooting abilities
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Ability to diagnose technical problems independently and determine appropriate solutions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating with customers by phone, email, video, and in person
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, procedures, and equipment manuals
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with limited supervision

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or technical/trade school certification in electronics, electromechanical technology, industrial technology, or a related technical discipline required

Travel & Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites
  • Customer visits may occasionally require early mornings or evenings depending on production schedules
  • Ability to spend extended periods standing, walking, sitting, and driving
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
