Job Title: Blaster/Coater Team Lead
Location: Hemet, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional overtime and Saturdays. (Overtime is not guaranteed but is required when scheduled.)
Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time / Temp to Hire Role
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Blaster/Coater Team Lead to oversee daily operations and personnel in our Blasting and Coating department. This role is responsible for ensuring productivity, maintaining safety standards, and delivering high-quality work in the surface preparation and coating of metal parts. The ideal candidate will have experience in blasting, painting, or epoxy coating and prior leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Blaster/Coater associates while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Assist the Blaster/Coater Supervisor with the implementation of safety and environmental programs.
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials.
- Schedule daily work, monitor quality control, and ensure production goals are met.
- Maintain inventories of raw materials and finished goods.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean metal surfaces.
- Apply coatings using brush, spray, or dip techniques.
- Bake and cure coated parts per specifications.
- Identify and report any defective parts.
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures.
Additional Duties:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Foster teamwork and a positive workplace culture.
- Support company-wide process improvements (VES).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a blasting/coating or paint-related environment required. Experience with epoxy coating preferred.
- Leadership: Prior team lead or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Skills: Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, forklifts, and hoists/cranes.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a background check.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Employment verification will be conducted.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
