Production Control Coordinator

Location: Carlsbad, CA (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $25.00–$35.00 per hour (DOE)
Position Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Control Coordinator to support manufacturing operations by ensuring strong on-time shipment performance, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and facilitating clear communication between Operations and Commercial teams.

This role plays a key part in monitoring production workflow, building realistic yet aggressive timelines, and proactively resolving potential scheduling and manufacturing challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time shipment performance
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks such as rebuilds, failed builds, material shortages, or equipment downtime
  • Coordinate closely with technicians and manufacturing teams to keep builds on schedule
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure smooth production flow
  • Maintain daily production and shipment tracking reports
  • Communicate schedule risks and provide detailed updates when timelines cannot be met
  • Support Lean and efficiency initiatives (5S, process improvements)
  • Maintain on-time delivery metrics of 95% or better
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in QA and production systems
  • Ensure all jobs move to QC and Shipping in a timely manner
  • Maintain a safe and positive work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment required
  • Understanding of product development life cycles preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to respond quickly to production challenges
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, databases, and scheduling systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing setting with:

  • Variable temperatures
  • Elevated noise levels
  • Industrial equipment and moving mechanical parts

PPE is required as applicable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
