Job Summary
The Animal Control Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both animals and the community. This position involves responding to calls regarding animal-related issues, enforcing local animal control laws, and providing care for stray or injured animals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to animal welfare and public safety, demonstrating the ability to handle various situations with professionalism

Hours: 8 am - 5 pm (40 hours) Not to exceed 40 hours

Work Schedule: Monday through Sunday (alternating Saturdays and Sundays)

***Must be available to work weekends***

Pay: $21.00 per hour - weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls regarding stray, lost, or injured animals and assess the situation.
• Capture and transport animals in a safe and humane manner.
• Enforce local animal control ordinances and regulations.
• Conduct investigations related to animal cruelty or neglect cases.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, including findings and actions taken.
• Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare issues.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all activities, including animal intake and disposition.
• Provide first aid or CPR to injured animals when required.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience
• No more than 1 point on your driving record (if an offer of employment is made).
• Animal handling expertise
• Conflict management abilities
• Report writing skills
• Driving experience
• High School Diploma or GED
