In this position you will perform a variety of complex electronic technical functions related to production tests and assembly of electronic-mechanical units or systems within a demand flow production & 5 S environment. Key requirements are:
- AA Electronic degree 2 year minimum in technical trade school or a minimum of three years of related work experience
- Experience of demand flow or production line experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Result Area 1: Production Test Technician
- Perform operational/functional tests on units and systems per test operation procedures. If Op Sheets not available refer to Bill of Material.
- Assemble products based on operational method sheets, and within established rates or TAKT time.
- Identify and resolve problems found during test.
- Promote continuous improvement, and communicate concerns regarding test procedures and results, to manager and manufacturing engineering.
- Diagnose and repair defective equipment at component or board level.
Key Result Area 2: Manufacturing Engineering Technician
- Wiring schematics and netlists are accurately created and completed for test fixtures.
- Production assembly jigs, test fixtures and ATE are designed and built with workmanship standards to IPC-A-610.
- Labview test software to program, configure and test products is written and released to manufacturing ERF’s (Evaluation Request Forms) submitted to the Manufacturing Engineering department to troubleshoot hardware, software, and/or mechanical failures are correctly diagnosed and completed.
- SOE’s and OP sheets with setup, test, program and configuration procedures are created or updated and released as required by assigned PCO.
- ATE and test PC’s are backed up when test code is changed or added.
- Coordinate and schedule with approved Calibration LAB Indyme’s test equipment.
Key Result Area 3: Product Quality
- Review quality of product at each operation on the production line.
- Identify concerns regarding quality, inform manager and manufacturing engineering to resolve in a timely manner.
Key Result Area 4: Kanban Support
- Maintain kanban bins.
- Report concerns or recommendations to improve the kanban system to floor supervisor or manager.
Key Result Area 5: 5S
- Sort (organization) your assigned area. Remove infrequently used items to prevent cluster, “visual noise”.
- Stabilize (orderliness) your assigned area. All items are returned to its designated place when the task is done.
- Shine (cleanliness) your assigned area. Clean, dust, sweep and wash your assigned area.
- Standardize (maintenance) your assigned area. Create and check off a list of responsibilities for maintaining your area that support sort, stabilize and shine.
- Sustain (discipline) your assigned area. Make a habit to check and maintain logs, check sheets or schedules that track and maintain the 5S principles. Participate in the 5S audits
Qualification Requirements
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of, Database software, Design software, Development software, Internet software, Inventory software, Manufacturing software, Order Processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Technical skills:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, test procedures, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and operation method sheets
- Knowledge and experience using: O scopes, DMM, signal generator, soldering iron, SMT and various test equipment
- Ability to trouble-shoot to the component level and identify electronic components
Performance skills:
- Work effectively in a demand flow & 5S manufacturing environment.
- Ability to multi-task and flexibility to perform various operations within a production line to maintain flow of work.
- Good communication skills (verbally and written) and works well with others
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills
Experience & Education:
- AA Electronic degree 2 year minimum in technical trade school or a minimum of three years of related work experience
