About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will set up and operate a variety of conventional machining equipment to produce high-quality metal parts and assemblies for both production and prototype work. This position is ideal for machinists who enjoy variety in their day, take pride in craftsmanship, and thrive in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll DoCore Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, and precision grinders to produce metal components to specification.
  • Perform multiple machine setups and operations daily (often 20+), supporting both production and prototype needs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, speeds, and feeds to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safe chip control.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and verify conformance to required tolerances.
  • Perform self-inspections and ensure all work meets quality standards.
  • Accurately complete work in a timely manner while maintaining attention to detail.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Operate powered industrial equipment (forklifts) to move materials as needed.
  • Assist with training and mentoring less-experienced team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; properly handle tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, standard work, and VES activities.
  • Use internal systems such as Oracle and CMTR to locate parts and materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors, team leaders, and peers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience operating manual lathes and/or mills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Strong working knowledge of machining fundamentals including speeds, feeds, and tooling.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational or technical training in machining or manufacturing.
  • Experience in a production or prototype machining environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles.
