Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter/ Dishwasher team member to support kitchen operations during the 2026 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA (March 2 - March 15). This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, assisting with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, and supporting overall kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality
- Unload and properly store food, supplies, and equipment
- Verify and sign invoices for deliveries
- Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils
- Operate and maintain the dish machine and dish room
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage, and inventory areas
- Sweep, mop, dust, and organize kitchen spaces
- Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, hoods, refrigeration fans, and storerooms
- Deep clean and degrease equipment as needed
- Clean and restock restrooms
- Follow all safety, sanitation, pest control, and SDS procedures
- Attend required trainings and maintain necessary certifications
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a dishwasher, kitchen utility worker, porter, or receiver preferred
- Restaurant or hospitality experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of food service sanitation standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Certifications (Required)
- Riverside County Food Safety Certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
- Comfortable working in hot, humid, wet, and noisy kitchen environments
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work flexible hours including nights, and weekends during March 2 - March 15, 2026.
- Minimum availability of three shifts per week
- Extended hours may be required during events or peak periods
