MJF Machine Technician

Location: Carlsbad, CA
Position Type: Full-Time
Hours: 40+ per week

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated MJF Machine Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the routine and preventative maintenance of a fleet of industrial Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printers and associated equipment. This position involves hands-on technical work, process improvements, training, and collaboration with engineering teams.

An ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, with a strong interest in 3D printing technology and manufacturing innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a fleet of industrial MJF 3D printers and related equipment.
• Conduct electronic diagnostics and make necessary repairs.
• Run machine and material testing, collect results, and document findings accurately.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and training documentation.
• Support process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions.
• Prioritize daily machine usage, plan downtime schedules, and ensure optimal utilization.
• Communicate machine status, issues, and updates with the Senior Engineer and lab technicians.
• Provide hands-on training on MJF technology and machine maintenance to lab staff and new employees.
• Stay up to date on MJF technology advancements and serve as an internal consultant on improving efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless production operations.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Vocational Degree preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic technical instructions.
• Hands-on experience with electronics, motion control systems, and diagnostics.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.

Preferred:

• Experience with 3D printing technologies, especially MJF, is a plus.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, Magics, or other CAD/CAM tools.
• Strong understanding of firmware fundamentals and electronics systems.
