Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized temporary Escrow Assistant for a 2-day assignment. The ideal candidate will support escrow operations related to real estate transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in mortgage servicing, loan processing, or banking to contribute to a dynamic environment that values precision and customer service. Prior experience with FNMA guidelines, underwriting, and fair housing regulations is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing escrow documents, contracts, and loan files to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the processing of mortgage loans, including loan origination, underwriting, and credit analysis tasks.
  • Coordinate with lenders, title companies, and clients to facilitate smooth escrow transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with TILA, fair housing laws, and other federal and state regulations governing mortgage lending and escrow procedures.
  • Perform basic math calculations related to escrow accounts, including prorations and fee calculations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all escrow activities using 10-key typing skills and computer systems.
  • Review loan documents for adherence to FNMA standards and bank policies.
  • Assist with mortgage servicing activities as needed, including payment processing and account reconciliation.

Skills

  • Proficiency with RBJ Software required; experience using the platform for escrow processing, document management, and disbursement tracking preferred.
  • Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, underwriting processes, and loan origination procedures.
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing, credit analysis, and loan processing workflows.
  • Familiarity with fair housing regulations, TILA disclosures, contracts, and banking procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic math skills necessary for escrow calculations and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating between clients, lenders, and internal teams.
