Currently seeking a full-time Business Development Manager with 10+ years of experience in Heavy Highway Civil Construction business and project management.
The main goal of this position is to find, cultivate and nurture contracting and sales opportunities that will increase the company’s revenue, market share, and overall competitive advantage. The Business Development Manager will act in a capacity that will promote innovation and sustainable growth. Technical experience in private site development for both commercial/industrial and residential projects, Federal contracting, Material Sales, Trucking, Mass Excavation, Underground utilities, Concrete flatwork and structures and Asphalt paving is preferred.
The ideal candidate must be independent, proactive, detail-oriented, analytical, organized, patient, an innovative team player and able to meet established deadlines.
Key Objectives to include but not limited to:
- Market and Trend Analysis; research competitors, industry shifts and identify potential new markets to spot growth opportunities.
- Areas of focus: General Contracting opportunities for private projects, subcontracting opportunities for Public, Federal, and Private projects, External marketing and sales for emulsion business and sourcing partners to rent out company owned assets.
- Relationship Building; cultivate strong relationships with private clients, contracting partners, various vendors and other stakeholders.
- Lead Generation; identify and pursue new business leads through networking, outreach, and referrals.
- Work with internal teams to align growth initiatives with overall company goals.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Proficient in various computer software programs used in construction to include but not limited to Ineight estimating software, Vista Accounting Software, HCSS as well as MS Office products.
- Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
- Ability to professionally communicate, effective oral and written communication.
- Experience in B2B relationships, particularly in complex or long-cycle project environments.
- Familiarity with industry-specific processes.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to convert leads into long-term business partnerships.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align new opportunities with broader business objectives and market positioning.
